Finish Carpenter

Our ideal applicant has an aptitude for precision and is excited about the work they do. We prefer applicants who have prior experience and/or training in trim carpentry or finish carpentry, but we are willing to train a motivated individual who works hard and learns quickly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications
-
Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, furniture, etc.

Erect scaffolding as needed

Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
-
Install and hang doors
-
Prior wood floor installation is an asset
-
Working with natural stone (e.g. onyx, marble) is an asset
-
Collaborate with other carpenters, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects
-
Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment
-
Follow established regulations and advocate for safety on each worksite
-
Cleaning work areas, machines, or equipment and maintaining a clean and safe job site
Requirements and Qualifications:
-
Completion of a relevant finish carpentry training program or apprenticeship or at least four years of carpentry experience

Keen attention to detail

Blueprint reading skills

Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools

Troubleshooting and communication skills
-
Physical stamina for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight spaces

Enjoyment of learning and challenges
-
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
